A Fine Art Book Project Featuring Senior Dogs
About the Project
In 2020 I set a goal: to create a fine art book of senior dogs benefitting Muttville Senior Dog Rescue. Muttville’s mission is to give senior dogs a second chance at life. With a small paid staff, Muttville exists through the hard work of hundreds of volunteers who assist in everything from transport to medical exams to administration.
$100 is donated to this wonderful organization when you book your portrait session.

The Photographer: Ellen Shershow
Ellen has been working with Muttville since 2012. She photographs the adoptable dogs and has donated a photography experience to the annual Muttville Gala for almost a decade. Additionally, Ellen had her images displayed as part of the San Francisco banner project on Market street, contributed large scale photographs to the annual gala décor, had her pet portraits featured on the gala invite and poster, and contributed countless images to their PR and marketing campaigns.
She is grateful for the opportunity to continue to support this wonderful organization that is so close to her heart and passion.

The Experience
1. The Consultation
We speak on the phone to truly get to know your dog and your family. Then, enjoy a separate design consultation where we conceptualize artwork specifically for the walls in your home.
2. The Photoshoot
The fun part! Enjoy heartwarming bonding moments with your dog as we capture different looks and find out what makes your dog tick. There are toys & treats, and coffee for the parents.
3. The Design Process
Enjoy a cinema slideshow of your session images that same day. Select your favorites and experience the custom design process of fine art pieces made just for you.

Ellen has a lot of tricks up her sleeve to bring out the playful, the regal, the goofy, the whatever personality of your dog in a portrait, & we were simply amazed at how gorgeous her final photos were.”
