Ours is a low-volume, high service business. When we schedule a studio experience, we block out most of a day to assure a relaxed atmosphere. If people fail to give us notice or simply do not turn up for their appointment, then we have lost most of a day’s work when we might have scheduled someone else.
With that in mind, while your session is covered by your studio credit, we do ask for our standard $200 reservation fee to hold your session date/time. If you decide to purchase any artwork from your session, we will use the $200 as additional credit towards your order. Your $100 reservation fee will be refunded if you decide not to purchase anything. Thank you for understanding.

Testimonials
"One can see the care and heart she pours into her art and subjects, and it's truly evident when we went through the whole experience. Personable and incredibly heartwarming from the phone interview to the day of photo shoot till the day we received the album of photos. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, and it's the good, fuzzy, facing-the-sun kind of rollercoaster. Ellen made sure our photo vision was realized; she listened with intent and care, thus, making our dogs' photos magical – they're amazing and so beautiful, and still astounds us how she can get such beautiful and natural shots of our hyper corgis. The quality is superb and Ellen is a natural at getting the best out of our pets."
“My photoshoot was hands down one of the best days of my life. She takes a damn good pet photo; what I wasn’t expecting though is how my relationship with my dogs, Chikita Lorraine and Reece LaQuavius, grew exponentially because of this participatory experience and I couldn’t be more grateful.
To be in session with Ellen Shershow is to be mesmerized, both yourself and your pets, because someone who is both so soft and so kind is so present, gently negotiating with the pets while making animal noises and playing recordings of chirps and meows simultaneously keeping track of equipment, backdrops, props, lighting, your comfort level, and most importantly the comfort level of the fur babies, negotiating with high end treats and never losing focus of capturing the essences of the tiny spirits we are honored to have the responsibility of keeping well and loved.
“We spent the better part of a Saturday with Ellen, our 3 Senior dogs and 2 adult kids Ellen instantly put our dogs at ease, instinctively knowing how to communicate with them. The experience of the shoot literally brought our family closer together. What blew our minds was how she put together a slide show of the best captured doggie/family photos after the 3 hour photo session. After just an hour of reviewing them. Ellen has an incredible gift of capturing the personalities of our fur babies and actual babies, I was moved to tears by what she created in such a short period of time. We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a gifted, warm, fun photographer who created the artistic images we'll have in our home that will remind us of that very special day we all shared together for many years to come.”
Why Dogs?
Our dogs are so much more than companions.
The dog is slobbery and kooky and soulful and precious. Next to Steve Martin, Jennifer Coolidge, and Sarah Silverman, they are the funniest creatures in the world.
We are enthralled by them, the gentle gaze, the unconditional love, the stories of dog as hero. When I was a teenager, our springer spaniel was my coolest and nicest friend. When I failed algebra, she licked my face. When I was lonely, she curled up in bed with me until I wasn’t lonely anymore.
I work with dogs and their humans. Small dogs, big dogs, diva dogs, shy dogs, funny dogs, happy dogs, unusual dogs. The dogs and the humans and I get together, and together we make pictures.
“J’embrasse mon chien sur la bouche! (I kiss my dog on the mouth.)”
