Let's talk about dog food!

Be sure that you choose a high-quality dog food for your pup. Many kibbles use fillers, sugars, chemicals and other ingredients that are not good for your puppy.

Lots of dogs do well on a raw diet and it’s easier than you may think to make your own dog food.  You can make a big batch of brown rice, chicken and vegetables once a month, portion it out in mason jars or ziplock bags, and freeze it.

I use a modified recipe, along with the vitamin pack, from Just Food For Dogs DIY recipe. Once made all you have to do it keep 2-3 days worth of jars defrosting in the fridge at all times.

Here are my tips for easy and healthy canine cuisine:

Making your own DIY dog food makes it really easy to serve your dog nutritious and yummy meals with minimal effort.

Use mason jars to store and freeze your DIY dog food.

Add a specially formulated nutrient blend for

a well rounded meal.

Here is a link to a list of items that are poisonous for a dog as well as items that are good for them - print and share with your family so everyone knows what's safe for your pet.

Fresh blueberries and apple slices can be used as a training treat

(but be careful with apples, the seeds and core are poisonous to dogs)

You can also give your dog a whole peeled carrot or a fresh green bean

they munch it down just like it’s a bone!
