How to Select What to Wear for An Upcoming Photoshoot
How to Select What to Wear:
Colors
Avoid wearing bright white or black as your dominant color.
Patterns
Try to avoid wearing clothing with large logos, graphics, prominent stripes, or strong patterns!
If you’ve booked a photoshoot that includes animals or small children, wear clothes that can live through a little dog hair, crumbs, or spilled juice!
Still feeling indecisive? Ask your photographer if you can bring multiple outfits!
Coordinated Outfits (For Group Sessions)
If you plan to have more than one person in the image, please select outfits that are complementary, but not exact matches!
We recommend choosing a color palette or tone family that everyone can choose from (i.e. jewel tones, earth tones, a single color or color combo, etc).
Hair and Nails
If you paint your nails, check them before your photoshoot and touch up any chips or cracks. This is especially true for any bright, neon, or dark colors!
If you need to get a haircut before your photoshoot, we recommend scheduling the haircut for a few days or a week before your cut (depending on your usual haircut frequency). Mistakes happen! And sometimes we need time to grow into a new haircut.
If you have facial hair, give is a comb and (possibly) a trim before the photoshoot! Stray hairs can often be distracting in a photo.
Teeth
If you drink beverages that are prone to staining teeth (coffee, wine, tea, etc), give your mouth a rinse before your photoshoot.
Go the extra mile and brush your teeth and tongue too!
Accessories
Stay away from old and scuffed shoes (especially sneakers!)
Watches can be a great accessory but remove any smart watches or accessories with digital screens. They make the perfect everyday accessory but tend to stick out in photos!
