Dog Training Tips for Your New Puppy 🐶

LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR PUPPYS MEMORY
Your new puppy has a memory of 1-3 seconds. Think about that: ONE TO THREE SECONDS.
In the time that it takes you to read this email, your puppy has already forgotten that getting into the trash is off limits! It can take anywhere from 6 months to two years to fully train your puppy.
A new puppy is an excellent opportunity to learn patience, repetition, and even more patience.
How to use your voice
Don’t ever hit or yell at your new puppy—these are both terrible training tools and will only make your puppy scared of you. When correcting your puppy, say “NO” in a very deep voice. When complimenting, use a happy, high pitched voice! Something like a Disney princess on helium! Dogs love a high voice and tend to obey a deep voice.
Getting Sleep
It’s possible that you aren’t getting much sleep and you may be feeling like your new pup will never stop having accidents or chewing on your furniture. I assure you, your puppy will grow out of this stage a lot faster than you think.
Making Memories
Have you thought about having professional pictures taken while he or she is still little? We always think 'right now' is going to last forever, but your puppy is going to grow up so fast. Now is is the perfect time to celebrate your newest family member.
